You may have heard the news of Cvent’s new mobile app offerings, CrowdCompass and CrowdTorch, but did you know about the mobile features that are already available to Cvent’s Event Management clients? We’ve noticed the rapid adoption of smartphones among meeting attendees, and in our February release, we updated our core registration functionality to be accessible from any web-connected device. It is projected that over one billion people will use their mobile devices as their primary Internet access point in 2012, and in this month’s best practice, I’ll teach you how to set up your events for the mobile web.
Cvent allows planners to easily create a mobile registration site that mimics the selections they have already designated for the desktop registration site, including color schemes and descriptive text. It is always a best practice to keep your mobile registration site as brief and concise as possible, as to not overwhelm visitors. Keep in mind some smartphones have small screens and you want to assure the most important details of the event site are visible.
A mobile registration site is designed to be a clean and simple platform for registrants to view details about your event, market and share the event with their friends and colleagues on social media sites, and register. Below you will find a few sample pages available for mobile sites.
Mobile Event Hub
This page serves as a table of contents for the different pages on your registration site.
This icon will take invitees through the registration pages that have been created for this event. Invitees will be able to provide contact information, answer questions, select activities they want to attend, pay and receive confirmation details.
Houses your event details, such as event description, location, dates and times and planner contact information.
Displays the event agenda for each day. Agenda details can entice inquiring viewers to register, or help people find sessions during the event.
This page will allow your invitees to follow your organization's social media sites including, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube and Google+.
This page will allow your invitees to share your event with their networks on social media sites including, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.
After invitees register, they will be able to access new icons on their mobile hub screen, such as an agenda page that will display a personalized agenda based on their registration selections, and a confirmation page to view registration details. As soon as someone completes a registration, confirmation details will also be emailed to the registrant for safe keeping.
