The American Automobile Association (AAA) is making it easier for meeting planners and business travelers to find green lodging. The organization recently announced plans to add "eco" icons for hotels and motels that are green certified in its 2010 TourBooks.
The "eco" icon is simiar to those used to designate that hotels have swimming pools, are pet-friendly, etc. The TourBooks profile hotels that are AAA-approved or Diamond-rated. To be designed as eco-friendly, hotels must also be certified by a state or national environmental program.
I've used the TourBooks in the past for leisure travel and have found them to be helpful. Do you find the AAA guides useful in the context of planning meetings?
