According to Benchmark Hospitality International, meeting planners today are "getting serious about learning environments." Dedicated meeting environments such as conference centers are becoming more popular, as they can deliver a focused learning environment with just the necessities—and easy-to-measure ROI.
Conference venues are catching on to this change in attitude and starting to offer meeting planners great deals akin to those found at hotel brands. Take, for example, a recent email ad I received from AMA Executive Conference Centers. In addition to its standard cost-saving features (no food and beverage minimums, no sleeping room commitment, no set-up charges), planners can also take advantage of AMA's new stimulus offer. Valid until December 30, 2009, planners have free use of a projector and PC at a meeting held at an AMA conference center.
What do you think? Are conference centers rising to the top of your venue options this year?
