Hotel Branding Makes for a Smoother RFP Process

A move from independent properties to branded ones will help meeting planners and other buyers during the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. At least that's what experts are saying in a recent article in The Transnational.

The lodging industry recession has prompted numerous independent hotel owners to move toward bigger brands, according to Choice Hotels International president and CEO Stephen Joyce.

"As transactions begin to occur, there's going to be a lot of hotels trading hands," he said. "There is going to be a lot of hotel branding going on; Europe is particularly attractive because it is so fragmented."

For planners, this shift offers various advantages when it comes to negotiations. That should come as no surprise, seeing as how large chains are more likely to be familiar with the RFP process and to have staff dedicated to it.

Thanks to Cvent's partnerships with Marriott International, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, and Millennium Hotels and Resorts, planners that send RFPs through the Cvent Supplier Network can be even more assured of a successful RFP process with existing and future branded.
