The Obama entourage is continuing its journey through Europe, moving from Paris to London. So far, the family has visited notable London attractions including the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey (which was closed to the public especially for them), and the Lyceum Theatre, where the First Lady and daughters caught a performance of The Lion King.
On their first night there, Michelle Obama, Malia and Sasha also had time to enjoy some traditional English pub food at popular venue The Audley. Located in Mayfair, this historic pub is far from dark and dank: an exterior of pink terra cotta tiles, large arched windows and climbing ivy gives way to an interior or rich, dark wood paneling and crystal chandeliers.
The children opted for the fish supper and Michelle Obama enjoyed the sirloin steak. Though the venue has a wide selection of beer on tap, including Hoegaarden and Budvar, Mrs. Obama enjoyed some wine with the rest of the adults in the group.
Meeting planners can enjoy this London venue, now much publicized since the Obama's visit, for receptions or dinners. Its upstairs dining room can host 40 guests, and the downstairs bar can accommodate 100 people.
