Meeting planners and hotel guests are looking for hotels with good cell phone reception, according to a survey by Repeated Signal Solutions (RSS), a provider of in-building wireless antenna systems. In its survey of 1,000 people ages 18 and up, 54 percent of respondents said that they may never return to a hotel where they got weak cell phone reception. About 45 percent said they may not return to a meeting facility if it lacks good cell phone coverage.
The trend remains the same in other buildings, too, the survey found. Nearly half of respondents said they would consider switching office buildings from locations with poor coverage to those with good coverage.
It doesn't seem too surprising that in today's digital age, cell phone reception is important—for many people a cell phone is the key lifeline to work, friends, family, etc. But when it comes to actually switching hotels because of it...would you?
