Meeting Planners Can Survive the Recession in Reno-Sparks

RSCVA Meeting Planners' Recession Survival GuideConvention & Visitors Bureaus are not being left behind in the meeting deals game. I receive a number of emails regarding CVB promotions and packages for event planners every week, so it takes a lot to catch my eye. That being said, I thought the promotion offer from the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA) was rather unique.

RSCVA operates, and thus sets the rates, at Reno-Tahoe meeting facilities such as the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Reno Events Center, Reno-Sparks Livestock Convention Center, and National Bowling Stadium. RSCVA is promising that if it can't beat or match your lowest rental fee from a competing city at one of its facilities, it will pay you $10,000 when you book your meeting through them. $10,000! Pretty impressive to me.

You can learn more about the deal at RSCVA's Meeting Planners' Recession Survival Guide. Even if you aren't interested in the promotion, I think the clever website is worth checking out. It has funny "advice" such as that of the image to the right.
