Pasadena Convention Center Celebrates $150 Million Expansion

The Pasadena Convention Center is celebrating its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today and the 33rd Annual Home Show & Grand Opening Celebration this weekend. Also part of the three-day celebration is a presentation of "One City, One Story, An Afternoon with Luis Alberto Urrea."

The convention center recently completed a $150 million expansion. Now an LEED-certified green facility, the expanded center features 60,000 square feet of new exhibit space, 25 breakout rooms and a new 25,000-square-foot ballroom. It is also home to the 3,000-seat Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Eco-friendly features include high-efficiency lighting and equipment, drought-resistant landscaping, a recycling program, and employee incentives for using public transportation.

Meeting planners can also take advantage of a number of amenities at the center, including in-house food and beverage, a preferred audio-visual supplier, and Internet/wi fi. On-site parking is available for 800 cars.
