Meeting planners are no doubt happy to know that travel to Chicago has just gotten easier, seeing as how the city's many diverse event spaces continue to get bigger and better.

The Chicago Marriott Downtown/Magnificent Mile is one such Chicago venue, having recently undergone a $36 million renovation project. The hotel's fifth, sixth and seventh floors are dedicated to meeting space, encompassing 65,000 square feet of space spread among 57 meeting rooms. Its 19,200-square-foot Chicago ballroom is the largest venue, capable of seating up to 1,800 people.

Among its meeting and event amenities, the hotel offers business services, high-tech equipment including LCD panels and projectors, and an on-site Chicago AV technician, decorator, electrician and photographer. Meeting rooms are equipped with wired and wireless high-speed Internet access.

In addition to meeting spaces, the smoke-free Marriott Chicago hotel welcomes overnight guests with 1,173 guest rooms and 25 suites. Though it is within walking distance of landmark attractions such as Navy Pier, Sears Tower and the Shedd Aquarium, guests can find plenty to do within the hotel itself. It boasts a on-site health club, a casual American restaurant, and a casual lobby bar and lounge, where six plasma HDTVs and 24 beers on tap entertain guests well into the night.
