Interested in learning more about Ruby? Or sharing your Ruby knowledge? Our office isn't just a place for event app developers---it's also a place for education and collaboration. Every month, CrowdCompass hosts PDX Ruby meetings for anyone who wants to become more skilled in the language of Ruby.
The third Tuesday of every month is generally for beginners, but all skill levels are welcome to join. Experts are encouraged to attend so they can contribute to presentations and "coach" the newbies of the group. These meetings are especially useful if you're seeking one-on-one help.
General meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month, and are thus known as "Ruby Tuesday". They consist of formal presentations, lightning talks, and group discussions on topics of interest.
Last night's Ruby get-together focused on making Sinatra web apps, the sequel gem, and object-relational mapping. There was also pumpkin pie (a little pre-Thanksgiving fun).
If you've always wanted to learn more about Ruby, now's the time! Come check out PDX Ruby at CrowdCompass, make some new friends, and leave feeling inspired. We can't always promise pie, but snacks and drinks are always involved. We hope to see you at the next Ruby meetup!
