December sees the opening of Distrito, the signature restaurant that highlights the savory street food of Mexico City. Consulting Chef Jose Garces, who has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation in recent years, will oversee the menu as well as the offerings of the other two on-site establishments, Old Town Whiskey and Garces Trading Company Coffee To-Go.
As for hosting group gatherings, planners have their pick of different places. Indoors, the Anchusa Room features 3,000 square feet of unobtrusive ballroom space which can comfortably fit up to 200 people with six separate break areas. Facing the Civic Center's 21-are park, El Zocalo is an indoor/outdoor venue for up to 150 guests with seating capacity for 60. The landscaped garden Calma is ideal for cocktail receptions for up to 100, and the main pool area known as the Picante Pool hosts evening functions for up to 600. The restaurant Distrito is also available for small private events of up to 60 people.
