This year, Canada Meet Week takes place from April 13 - 17. This inspiring week of events for event and meeting planners will provide opportunities for networking, professional development and recognizing the accomplishments of event industry professionals.
On April 14, In Toronto, the week will begin with SITE Canada's Spring Social, which will take place at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex, will also take place on April 14th. ISES Toronto will present an education evening for wedding planners.
Wedding Designer and Author, Sasha Souza, will share tips during a workshop entitled Signature Sasha: How to stand out in today's event world.
Three co-located events will take place at the Metro Convention Centre:
- CanSPEP Breakfast
- Canadian Special Events Live! Conference and the Event Tech-OLOGY Summit.
- Ignite Business Event Expo (iBE Expo)
An all access pass will give attendees access to Canadian Special Events Live! and Ignite Business Event Expo.
On April 14th, a day of educational content will be presented at Canadian Special Events Live! The next day iBE Expo will begin with keynotes at the Glen Gould Theatre across the street from Metro Convention Centre:

- Raine Maida, Singer, Songwriter, & Social Activist
- Tod Maffin, Digital Marketing Expert, & President of engageQ Digital
The trade show floor will open for Ignite Business Event Expo and Canadian Special Events Live! iBE Good to Know Theatre & CSE Live! bb Blanc Theatre will present educational content on the tradshow floor.
The day will end with the BEICC industry night. This annual fundraising event will take place at The Zone 2015 at UNIUN nightclub.
iBE Expo has a hosted planner programme and pre-fam for event planners based more than 160 Km from Toronto.
The next evening, Canadian Special Events Magazine's 17th annual STAR awards will be held at the Daniels Spectrum Event Space.
MPI's National Meetings Industry Day
On April 16th, National Meetings Industry Day (NMID), Canadian event industry professionals across the country will assemble for a variety of MPI receptions, networking events and educational workshops. The objectives are:
- to define and shape the meetings and events profession in the future
- to help raise the profile of the industry and the benefits it generates for communities and institutions across Canada
- to discuss the economic impact of meetings in their region with people who are outside of the industry
In Toronto, at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex, a keynote presentation entitled The Great Debate: Our Industry's Economic Future will be presented by Glen Hodgson, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist, The Conference Board of Canada. This will be followed by 3 debates focusing on different industry sectors.
In Montreal, Journee nationale de l’industrie des reunions (JNIR) will kick off with a gala recognizing the accomplishments of event industry professionals with a JNIR award will take place on April 16th. Martin Gauthier, Associe Principal, Sid Lee a Montreal. will deliver a keynote Le pouvoir de la transparence (The power of transparency). The next day, will be devoted to training and development workshops.
Event and meeting planners in British Columbia will assemble at Vancouver's Convention Centre West. A panel of industry experts will initiate an exploration of the impact of legacy events on the economies of the host cities and globally.
National Meetings Industry Day events will also take place in Halifax, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton.
