Today, I'll explore another beach destination where U.S. companies can travel without a passport for incentive trips and corporate retreats. In Destin, located on Florida's Emerald Coast, groups won't even have to leave continental U.S.
Within easy reach of Destin are 13 beaches with fine-sand extending along a 24-mile coastline. A full range of watersports is available including waterskiing, Jet skiing, snorkeling, surfing, and parasailing. The proximity to the water means that fresh, sea-to-table dining is available at restaurants like Crab Trap Restaurant and Boshamps Seafood and Oysters House.
Rest assured, there's also plenty to appeal to the landlubbers in your party. Not only is Florida's Emerald Coast a golfer's paradise, the area has a thriving arts scene. There are galleries to explore and the Destin Festival of Arts has taken place every year for the past 20 years. Bluegrass at the Beach takes place in mid-September. Time your visit right and culture lovers can enjoy performances of ballet, music, and Broadway productions. Concerts in the Village, which takes place over a 9-week span from early May to early July, has something for everyone whether their tastes are for jazz, golden oldies, reggae, rock, Motown, R&B, or blues.
In Destin, groups can select from condos and luxury beachfront resorts:
- The Palms of Destin Resort and Conference Center offers villas and junior 2 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and 3 bedroom condos. Units are equipped with kitchen appliances (including dishwashers), DVD players, and irons and ironing boards. The conference center has 6,000 square feet of state-of-the-art luxury meeting and special event space.
- Silver Shells Beach Resort has 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom condos, as well as penthouses with fully equipped kitchens, Jacuzzi tubs in the master ensuite, and, washers and dryers. With a spa and concierge service, it's ideal for incentive trips.
