Set on the Gulf of Riga, Riga has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site due to it's historical role along trading routes and large collection of art nouveau buildings.
Riga's thriving arts scene, showcasing opera, classical music, ballet and other dance disciplines, appeals to residents and visitors. The Riga Jazz Stage festival attracts artists from all over the Baltic Region. Riga Fashion Week takes place in April every year.
