12 Touches to Add Punch and Pizzazz to Corporate Events

Event colour palletWith the holiday season around the corner, it's time for event planners to add finishing touches to plans for parties and galas and kick them up a notch from last year.

There is a perception that large budgets are required to create stunning events. This is not always the case. Regardless of your budget, you can add punch and pizzazz to events with just a few simple touches:

  1. Select a venue with mirrors, skylights, or glass panels on walls or ceilings.

  2. Dim the lights.

  3. Make it Black Tie if appropriate.

People get few opportunities to dress up anymore. When guests dress up, it elevates your event without adding a penny to your budget.

  4. Color PaletteKeep the color palette simple.

  5. Use an unexpected color combination.

  6. Reflect the color palette subtly:
  • In the dress code.
  • In signature drinks.
  • With cushions and small colored ornaments.
  • Through flowers and flowering plants.
  • Reflections from clear candle holders.
  • In desserts, appetizers and other menu items.
  1. Candles and FlowersUse seating with unique shapes.

  2. Use metallic or glass table tops to reflect event decor.

  3. Remember flowers and plants aren't just for centerpieces.

You can place small arrangements on end tables, coffee tables, high tops, buffet tables, dessert tables, and bars.

  4. Dessert decorPlace desserts on mirrors or silver trays with a reflecting surface.

  5. Use chiffon, mesh or crinoline fabric for draping, in floral arrangements, centerpieces, and on buffet tables.

  6. Add the element of surprise.

Whether it's a short fireworks display, pulling back curtains to reveal a spectacular view, an aerial artist, or a celebrity guest, pick one special element and unveil it beautifully.
