Corporate Events: Fall Fun in Toronto

Fall Wilderness EventAutumn is sometimes perceived a transitional season in Toronto but it's actually a great time to plan corporate events. Temperatures are moderate enough for groups can spend part of the day outdoors and be comfortable wearing just a jacket. The humidity of the summer is over and the deep winter freeze has not set in. Instead, the colorful fall foliage is visible throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

When groups come to Toronto for conferences, business meetings, and corporate events during the fall, it is important to carve out some time to explore wide range of activities that are available in the city and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

I've lived in Toronto for more years than I care to own and here are my personal picks for unique fall corporate events.

Fall Fun in and Near Toronto

  • Take in a Toronto Blue Jays orArgonauts Game from a Luxury Suite at the Rogers Centre
  • Rickshaw Tours
  • Segway Tours
  • 4 x 4 Wilderness Tours
  • Great Canadian RaceTrail Riding and Gymkhana Games on Horseback
  • Treetop Walking
Temperatures are more comfortable and the trees have their fall colors.
  • Corn Mazes
Some farmers in the GTA and surrounding areas set up giant corn maze that are fun to explore.
  • Urban/Rural Safaris
It's the perfect time to have an urban safari to explore downtown Toronto and the country where visits to corn mazes, wagon rides, horse riding, and bonfires can be incorporated into the race route. If you're splitting your time between Toronto and a rural part of the GTA, an urban rural safari is a great wan for your team to make the transition from city to country.
  • Early Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving comes early in Canada so American visitors can enjoy two Thanksgivings if they incorporate the 2nd Monday in October into their itinerary. It's Thanksgiving holiday in Canada but a regular business day in the U.S. Hotels, resorts and attractions like Black Creek Pioneer Village feature Thanksgiving menus.
  • Early Christmas Shopping
After Thanksgiving, give your group a half day of free time to go shopping. They can get a head start on their Christmas shopping as the Christmas displays appear right after Canadian Thanksgiving.
  • Halloween
Halloween is another great time to come to Toronto. Neighborhoods have colorful decorations and there are special Halloween events that would be appropriate for corporate events. Canada's Wonderland, a thrilling theme park, is open every weekend in October for Halloween Haunt.
  • Wine Tours and Tastings
We have previously discussed interactive wine tastings in Niagara-on-the-Lake but there are also wineries in York, Halton and Peel Regions. Brewery tours are available in the GTA.
