For summer meetings, the opportunity for participants to bring family members is a definite plus. Resorts and hotels with waterpark facilities ensure that children will be kept busy and content when parents are in meetings.
Four Seasons Resort at Walt Disney World, which opened last year, has already expanded Explorer Island, its 5-acre waterpark with a lazy river, waterslides, and splash zone. The resort has 443 spacious guest rooms and 68 suites. Groups can buy out the 16th floor with the 4-bedroom Presidential Suite and 9-bedroom Royal Suite with 3 luxurious living rooms. Both suites provide a review of the spectacular fireworks at Walt Disney World.
Meeting facilities has 2 spacious outdoor meeting areas. Lakeside meeting rooms include the 14,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, the 6,200-square-foot Palm Ballroom, and 8 breakout rooms.
Legoland Hotel and Waterpark
Legoland Hotel, with 152 guest rooms and suites, recently opened at the world's largest Legoland Park in Winter Haven, Florida. Guest rooms have bunk beds and pull out trundle beds.
The waterpark that has a Lego-styled wave pool, Joker Soaker, an interactive playground, twin chaser waterslides where friends can slide together, and a build-a-raft river. Packages that include admission to the park are available for groups of 10 or more.
The Wells Fargo 4D Theatre can accommodate meetings of up to 700 participants.
Slated to open later this summer, Margaritaville's new property in Hollywood is in the process of hiring staff. Event planners will welcome the 30,000-square-foot of indoor and outdoor meeting space overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The 349 guest rooms incorporate a color palette inspired by sand, sea, and sky.
Waterpark facilities include the FlowRider Double surfing simulator, a waterslide, and the LandShark Pool with a zero gravity zone.
