From the feedback I have received, yesterday's blog post made a lot of people...including me.... hungry. I thought it would be interesting to continue the theme and uncover venues where groups can share the experience of creating gourmet cuisine together:
1. Auberge La Feniere
Sixty miles away from Marseille Airport, this 16-room auberge in a country setting in Provence overlooks Durance Valley.
There are 2 meeting rooms: Salon Bleu with a capacity of 10 and Salon Rouge with a capacity of 22. On-site, groups can enjoy cooking classes and then stroll through the vineyards or rleax in the vineyards. Here is a preview of the types of dishes that groups prepare.
Located in the Midi Pyrenees 20 minutes from Saint Antonin Noble Val, Haute-Serre is a 5-bedroom, 200-year-old stone farmhouse that offers hands-on French cooking classes through Raison d'art. Every year, they offer a 10 day culinary retreat in Midi-Pyrenees, France & The Basque Region.
3. Chalet Savoie Fair
In the heart of the French Alps, Chalet Savoie Faire welcomes groups of up to 8 participants to their early 20th-century farmhouse in Fontaines Naves. Through their Alpine cooking schools, guests have interactive culinary experiences that showcase the local cuisine.
4. Cook in France
From their venue in South West France's Dordogne Region, British couple, Jim and Lucy Fisher, offer residential cooking experiences. They have converted a barn into a modern venue that offers comfortable accommodation for 6 on the ground floor and cooking in a contemporary kitchen on the upper floor.
5. Le Calabash Cooking School
Located in Yzeures-sur-Creuse, a tiny hamlet in Indre et Loire, Le Calabash Cooking School can provide incredible culinary experiences for groups of up to 12. Guests stay in Chateau Valcreuse, a luxury reiverside château dating back to 1850. Classes are held in a traditional French farmhouse on property.
