With rolling hills, vineyards that stress for miles, canals and medieval towns, Midi-Pyrenees is France's largest region encompassing 8 departements (including Haute Garonne, Hautes Pyrenees, and Aveyron). Located in southwest France, its boundaries are the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Pyrenees along the border with Spain, and the Massif central highlands in the North. Saint Antonin Noble Val that Cvent Event Blog featured last week is in Midi-Pyrenees.
Midi-Pyrenees is known for UNESCO World Heritage Sites dating back to the Middle Ages, ruins from the Roman Empire, sustainable tourism, fine wine, and gourmet cuisine.
Arts lovers and outdoor enthusiasts will be equally at home in Midi-Pyrenees. There are 180 museums in the region including Musee Champollion in Figeac, Abattoirs centre for modern and contemporary art in Toulouse, Musee Toulouse-Lautrec. 180 festivals take place in the region every year. There is the International Television Arts Festival in Luchon, Festival Jazz in Marciac, Festival Rio Loco in Toulouse, and Tempo Latin featuring Afro-Cuban and Latin music.
