In the heart of Frankfurt, within comfortable walking distance of the Old City, the famous Zeil mile, the business district and dining establishments, PalaisQuartier has taken shape. This innovative complex includes Jumeirah Frankfurt, Palais Frankfurt, MyZeil Galleria, and the NEXTOWER Office Tower. For groups unfamiliar with Frankfurt, the complex provides a cozy home base, from which they can reach out and explore the rest of the city.
There is quick access to transportation through the U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations nearby.
Here is a quick overview of what the PalaisQuartier complex has to offer:
When I attended IMEX 2012, Daniel Raphael Sewing, Jumeirah Frankfurt Hotel's enthusiastic Sales Manager, provided a comprehensive overview of the complex and a tour of the property.Jumeirah Frankfurt, which opened on August 1, 2011, is a gleaming, 218-room,25-story tower, with ultra-modern amenities. For example, through unique elevator panels, guests save time by pre-selecting their floors.
The member of the reception team who checks in each guest, accompanies guests to their rooms and provides a quick and much appreciated orientation to the special technical features of the elevators and guest rooms.
For, example, all rooms have infra-red sensors that detect the number of guests entering the room. In response, lights are turned on and heating and air conditioning are adjusted. Other sustainability initiatives include heat recuperation, waste reduction initiatives and measures to reduce CO2 emissions.
There are ambiance and climate control touch-pads in guest rooms (see image to the left).
Guest room amenities include:
- Complimentary broadband and wireless Internet
- 42" LCD TV with remote multi-platform interactivity
- iPod docking stations
Electrical panels can process electrical devices from a variety of currents and electrical converters are provided in every room.
Jumeirah Frankfurt has 730 square meters of flexible meeting and event space. Located on the third floor, there are five multi-purpose meeting rooms that can accommodate between two and 200 guests. There are special attendants on the 3rd floor, which also has its own security and checkroom facilities. Meeting rooms have floor to ceiling windows that provide natural daylight.
With 105,000 crystals in its ceiling, the 364-square-meter Cristal Ballroom is a spectacular setting for galas and special events.
The hotel's technological advances extend to the basic audio-visual included in meeting room rental:
- Wireless Internet
- 4,500 ANSI Lumen LCD projector
- screens that can retract into the ceiling when not in use
- speakers in the ceiling
- sockets implemented in the floor
- black-out curtains that close electronically
In addition to all its high-tech-high-touch features, the hotel has 50,000 special guests residing on the hotel's rooftop. They are the bees who work hard all day to supply fresh honey and honey combs for Jumeirah Frankfurt 's dining establishments.
For larger functions, the Baroque-styled Palais Frankfurt is located steps from Jumeirah Frankfurt across the Thurn-und-Taxis-Platz courtyard that it shares with all PalaisQuartier buildings.
Palais Frankfurt is located on the site of the historical, Thurn und Taxis Palais, which was built from 1731 to 1739 and destroyed during World War II. This sparkling conference, exhibition and event venue was re-constructed between 2004 - 2009, based on the original plans for Thurn und Taxis Palais.
The event venue, which is 1,200 square meters, accommodates up to 899 guests for receptions and 450 dinner guests.
While there is no natural light due basement location of the event venue, Palais Frankfurt has lightning equipment to create a variety of effects. With respect to technology, the concept is "plug and play" with variety of technical options for tailor-made events.
Of interest to exhibitors would be the built-in stage and access to bring in cars or heavy equipment for exhibits.
Palais Frankfurt has one of the largest garages in the city with space for 1,390 vehicles.
