A few months ago, President Barack Obama held his first Twitter Townhall, a ground-breaking hybrid event. He is again role modeling social media engagement in his upcoming LinkedIn Townhall. For the many CEOs who still don't "get" (or want to get) social media, it's another wake-up call.
- LinkedIn members are invited post questions for this virtual meeting in the open Putting America Back to Work 2011 Group.
- Questions will be selected for President Obama to answer during the live LinkedIn Townhall from LinkedIn headquarters on Monday, September 26, 2011.
- To view a live stream of LinkedIn Townhall, tune in on LinkedIn. It begins at 2 PM ET and 11 AM PT.

In the biggest transfer of demographic power since the Baby Boomers took the corporate world by storm in the 1960s, social media adept "Generation-Y" is hitting workplaces around the world. Executives, corporate event planners and meeting planners would be wise to embrace and harness LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook as tools for customer and employee engagement. Virtual events, Twitter chats, business meetings, and team events are all possible.
President Barack Obama actively used social media during his bid for the White House. He is active LinkedIn, Twitter (@barackobama) and Facebook. He continues to blaze a trail and role model how leaders can use social media for hybrid events, corporate meetings, employee and customer events. Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh (@zappos), Comcast VP Scott Westerman (@comcastscott), Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz (@rickysridge), and other social media savvy executives have been excellent role models. Now it's your turn!
If you know of other executives or political leaders who are harnessing the power of social media, please stop by and tell us about them.
