Last week, we headed east from Montreal to explore the Eastern Townships. Today, we'll travel 1-1/2 hours north of Montreal to Mont Tremblant in the heart of the Laurentians. With a wide range of accommodation, event venues, and meeting facilities, it's an ideal setting for conferences, business meetings, and corporate events.
With an elevation of 2,871 feet and a southern vertical drop of 2,116 feet, Mont Tremblant is a year-round playground for outdoor adventure enthusiasts.
Skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, cross country skiing, sleigh rides, or dog sledding...take your pick. If you're really up for an adventure, try ice climbing or snowmobiling.
When you're ready to get out of the cold, give lady luck a try at the Casino de Mont Tremblant. It's a perfect setting for winter team building. Some venues and suites have kitchenettes which really opens up the door for culinary team building.
If your group is into luxury cars, there is even a track where BMW holds its Winter Driving School. Book well in advance as it sells out early. As spring approaches, try a sugaring off party for a unique, Quebec-style special event.
In warmer months, adventures include horse riding, rafting, cycling, mountain biking, trampolines, golf and rock climbing. There is a beach and tennis club.
Camping and canoe trips can be arranged at Parc national du Mont Tremblant. At the aerial forest adventure course, try tree walking and ziplining. Mont Tremblant provides a great backdrop for wilderness survival team building. With 95 trails, the possibilities to incorporate GPS challenges and treasure hunts are endless.
For banquets, galas and other special events, a few options include:
- The Beach & Tennis Club
- the Manitou, a 10,000 sq, ft. reception hall at the Mont Tremblant summit
- Centre des Congres Tremblant, the congress center with 10,500 sq. ft. of meeting space, 12 meeting rooms (including 2 executive rooms with fireplaces) and a patio for up to 150 guests
Parc national du Mont Tremblant is also a possibility for a variety of outdoor events. If you're lucky, you'll see deer, moose and other wildlife.
Where to Dine
Mont Tremblant is a gourmet's paradise with restaurants serving French, Asian and Italian cuisine. For something special there are creperies, as well as a venue serving fondue and raclette.
Where to Stay
Mont Tremblant is one of Quebec's ultimate luxury resorts but there is accommodation to fit just about every budget. There are 5 Star hotels such as Fairmont Tremblant, condos, suites and vacation homes. At the Pedestrian Village, choose from a range of accommodations and manage your budget with all-inclusive packages.
With so many things to do and places to stay, conference, event and meeting planners will find their jobs are a lot easier at Mont Tremblant.
