Indoor beaches aren't always easy to find but they are a welcome break, especially at this time of year. They're the perfect setting for receptions, corporate play days and, of course, beach parties.
Since our last report, a few more indoor beaches have opened and we've discovered more indoor beaches that are guaranteed to please corporate groups.
Where to Find Indoor Beaches
1. World Waterpark, West Edmonton Mall (Alberta, Canada)
With a palm trees, a sandy beach, loungers, waves, and indoor surfing, the indoor beach at West Edmonton Mall gives guests a welcome break from the frosty Alberta weather. Here is an indoor beach party in action.
2. Schlitterbahn (South Padre Island, Texas)
New in the waterpark at Schlitterbahn Beach Resort, Playa Azul is an indoor tropical beach. The Palapa Swim-Up Bar adds to the ambiance.
3. Schlitterbahn (Galveston Island, Texas)
Torrent Beach and the Wasserfest swim-up bar are open all year at Schlitterbahn on Galveston Island.
4. Fallsview Beach (Niagara Falls, Ontario)
Part of the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark that adjoins 4 hotels at the Falls Avenue Resort, Fallsview Beach has deck chairs, palm trees and, best of all, warm temperatures all year long.
5. New Century Global Centre Chengdu, China
Inside New Century Global, one of the world's tallest buildings, the Paradise Island waterpark has its own indoor beach beach. An artificial sun "shines" 24/7.
