Niagara Falls is one of the most incredible places on earth from which to ring in the New Year. Notice that I did not specify Niagara Falls, New York or Niagara Falls, Ontario. In Niagara Falls the experience is just as captivating on both sides of the border, which is just west of Goat Island in the middle of the Niagara River. The American Falls are just east of Goat Island and Horseshoe Falls are to the west. Two-thirds of the Horseshoe Falls are in Canada.
At night, during the winter, the falls are beautifully bathed in light and color. A trip to Niagara Falls to take in the New Year's Eve celebrations would be a perfect way to express appreciation to top performers or top tier clients and their families.
New Year's Eve in Niagara Falls, New York
On New Year's Eve, The Spinners will be performing at the Seneca Niagara Casino. To see snowmen, Christmas trees and other beautiful shapes formed by LED lights, be sure to visit the Winter Wonderland project and the Holiday Lights of Niagara trail. The Niagara Power Project's Festival of Trees is open until January 3rd.
New Year's Eve in Niagara Falls, Ontario
This year, New Year's Event festivities will include a free concert at Queen Victoria Park by Keith Urban, Nick Jonas of Jonas Brothers fame; Lights, a Canadian electropop artist, and Canadian singer Shawn Mendez will also be part of the line-up.
Visitors will also be able to take in the Floral Showhouse Christmas Display and the illuminations that are part of the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights that continues until mid-January. Fireworks continue nightly until mid-January.
New Year's Eve Fireworks
Speaking of fireworks, whatever your vantage point, you are guaranteed to be treated to spectacular pyrotechnic displays that are visible simultaneously on both sides of the border.
In Niagara Falls, New York, the fireworks are most visible from Prospect Point. The best places to view the fireworks on the Canadian side of the border are the revolving restaurant at the top of the Skylon Tower, Oakes Garden Theatre and Queen Victoria Park.
