Piton D'Anchaing , ReuionLocated in the Indian Ocean, southwest of Mauritius and east of Madagascar. Reunion is one of France's 5 overseas regions with representation in the French National Assembly. it is also one of 7 island clusters in the Indian Ocean forming the Vanilla Islands destination alliance (Mauritius, Maldives, Madagascar, Mayotte, Reunion, Comoros and Seychelles).

This 2,500 square-kilomaeter island of stark contrasts has a tropical climate and terrain ranging from arid savannahs to rocky coastlines with towering cliffs to humid rainforests to vast organic coffee estates.

The highest point is Piton des Neiges, a dormant volcano. Other pitons include Piton d'Anchaing and Piton de la Fournaise, an active volcano. There are lakes, rivers, waterfalls, lagoons formed by coral barriers and 35 sandy beaches. Historical attractions include guided tours of cultural villages such as Le Circuit des Cases Creoles and Plantation Vanilla Bourbon. In Saint-Denis, the capital, groups can tour the Old Town Hall, Jardin de l’'Etat and la Rue de Paris.
