Saint Antonin Noble Val, France From The Hundred-Foot Journey

Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, FranceIt's hard to resist seeing The Hundred-Foot Journey....twice. Produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey, it has a heartwarming storyline about a family from Mumbai and it features exquisite scenes shot in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, a commune in the Midi-Pyrenees region of southern France.

Located in the Noble Valley, this picturesque medieval destination dating back to the 13th century was the location of a Benedictine Abbey between 763 and 1570 AD. This secluded destination is perfect for small groups in search of privacy and a stunning setting for meetings and executive retreats.

Activities in the area include canoeing, caving, hang-gliding, and mountain biking. Places to visit include Chateau de Cas, Chateau de St Projet, Grotte du Bosc, l'Abbaye de Beaulieu, Le Petit Paris, and Jardins du Quercy.

Where to Dine

Stunning close-ups of gourmet cuisine and the produce of the region played such a prominent role in The Hundred-Food Journey that I would be remiss if I failed to mention some of the restaurants in the area.

Le Carré des GourmetsLe Carre des Gourmets delivers stunning views and scrumptious gourmet cuisine created from the area's fresh meat, cheeses, fruit, and wine.

L'Auberge Des Sens welcomes groups to savour the delights of gourmet cuisine on their terrace, shaded by centuries old vineyards. Perched 9 kilometers above Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, La Corniche is a small eatery offering stunning views of the town and Gorges de l'Aveyron.

Tucked away on one of the tiniest streets in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Valle, Le Capharnaum showcases fresh home cooked cuisine. Gourmet dishes with a hint of an aphrodisiac quality, served in the shaded garden terrace, are prepared from fresh local produce and beautifully presented at Le Beffroi Tentations.

Where to Stay

Places to stay include Le Logis de Reyjade dating back to 1776. Le Moulin de Roumegous is a 19 room in with an old mill located on a cliff overlooking Roc d'Anglars. In the heart of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, Gite Auberge des Gorges is a large white venue that can accommodate 9 guests. The area also has many 3 - 4 bedroom villas.
