Way back when I was attending Vanier CEGEP in Montreal, I used to go to Saint-Sauveur. My friends would ski while I relaxed in the lodge by a fireplace and sipped hot chocolate, Fast forward many years and I finally had an opportunity to return to Saint-Sauveur. Located about an hour North of Montreal in the heart of The Laurentians, Saint-Sauveur is the perfect destination for corporate team building retreats and business meetings that incorporate outdoor activities.
During the summer, camping, boating, canoeing, rafting, horse riding, golf, cycling and hiking are available. Groups can cool off in between meetings at the Mont Saint-Sauveur Water Park that has rafting, lazy river and water slides. Art lovers will enjoy browsing for treasures by Quebec artisans in the many galleries and boutiques.
In the winter, Saint-Sauveur is a prime destination for skiing, snow boarding, ice skating, snow shoeing and cross-country skiing.
Major festivals and events include Festival des arts de Saint-Sauveur in the summer, Blues Nights in the Laurentians in the fall. The annual Christmas parade is on the first Saturday of December. In March when the sap from the maple trees begins to flow, sugaring off is not to be missed.
At night, Saint-Sauveur comes alive as there are many bars, bistros and pubs where groups can kick back and relax.
Places to Stay: Saint-Sauveur has accommodation for groups of all sizes including Le Manoir Saint-Sauveur, Chateau Les Merles and, for small executive retreats, Maison d'hotes Le Bourdil Blanc. For groups interested in wilderness retreats, there is glamping in the cabins and tee-pees at Chimo Refuges.
