Corporate Event Venues: More Indoor Rainforests

Lied JungleIn the final weeks of winter, your guests would appreciate a change of climate and the literal change of scenery indoor rainforests offer. Fortunately, you can find indoor rainforests closer to home than expected.

The Lied Jungle (Omaha, Nebraska)

You'll find The Lied Jungle, the largest indoor rainforest in the Americas, at Henry Doorly Zoo.

The auditorium has a capacity of 312. The Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium Education and Conference Center is a state-of-the-art facility that can accommodate 350 for dining. Durham Lodge and Birthday House has space for 60 with configurations in theatre style or rounds for dining.

The best news is that The Lied Jungle can be fully privatized for special and corporate events.

Amazonia (Motherwell, Scotland)

Located 20 minutes from Glasgow International Airport, Amazonia is an indoor tropical rainforest at M&D's Scotland Theme Park. There are over 70 animal species in this wheelchair accessible complex.

Facilities include the Alona Hotel and Glasshouse Restaurant with a custom- built atrium. The banqueting suite has a capacity of 450, theater style.

Burger's Mangrove Hall (Arnhem, The Netherlands)

Located at Royal Burger's Zoo, this indoor ecosystem has over 30 varieties of mangrove plants and 20 animal species from Asian mangroves. The Safari Meeting Centre is available for meetings and events.

On the Horizon

Earthpark (Idaho)

Plans for Earthpark have been underway for some time now. Modelled after The Eden Project in Cornwall, UK, that we previously described, the vision is to create a national learning center with:

  • 3 indoor tropical Amazon rainforest ecosystems
  • a multi-level aquarium
  • interactive multi-media galleries with 4-D virtual reality experiences

We'll update you as plans unfold.

Finally, we'll inspire you with this compilation filmed at some of the world's largest indoor rainforests.
