As a Canadian teenager, I used to look forward to visiting New Hampshire when I was a camper at Frontier Lodge Christian Youth Camp near the U.S. border. Now, for corporate groups in search of relief during the steaming summer months, I can recommend the White Mountains, which cover 25% of New Hampshire, as a perfect choice.
It's an area with year-round picture postcard views. Some of the major attractions that give groups the opportunity to enjoy panoramic views of the area's breathtaking scenery include ziplining at Alpine Adventures in Lincoln, the Wildcat Express Gondola Sky Ride Ride and the ZipRider at Wildcat Mountain, and the Cannon Aerial Tram at Franconia Notch. Other not to be missed attractions include the White Mountain National Forest, the Glacial Caves in Lincoln and the scenic Polar Bear Caves Park with caves that are the remnants of the 3rd continental glacier in North America. Off-road adventures are available at Alpine Adventures.
There is no shortage of venues for corporate groups. For example, Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa has 144 guests rooms and 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Omni Mount Washington Hotel, has 343 guest rooms and 15 meeting rooms. Nordic Village Resort. For large groups, Nordic Village Resort has 1 - 3 bedroom condo units, chateaus and suites in various sizes. The Chateaus at Highland Ridge at this village is ideal for small executive retreats.
During the summer, average high temperatures in the mountains are comfortable, hovering in the high 70s to the low 80s. In fact, Mount Washington, where 72° F is the highest temperature ever recorded at the summit, is located in this area. At the Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center, groups can enjoy hiking and mountain biking on the extensive trail network. White water and flatwater kayaking are also available.
