The web has many resources available, but it takes time to seek them out when you don’t even know what you are looking for. Here are some of my new favorites:
TypingTest is a free online test to see how fast you can type. You choose the type of copy, such as Aesop’s Fables. You are given one minute to type. It calculates your errors with your speed to get your adjusted speed. This is fun for yourself, or something you can have a prospective employee complete.
BookmarkQ allows you to link to a specific part of a web page by highlighting a section of text and clicking the bookmarklet. This will give you a popup of a short url that will point to a specific passage.
SnipReel allows you to edit out 60 seconds from a YouTube video so you can send just the good part to your friends and colleagues.
Quick Screen Share allows you to share your desktop with a colleague for free with nothing to download or install. It even allows you to remotely control mouse and keyboard.
Online-Convert is an online file converter. You can convert audio files, video files, images, documents, ebooks and even hashtags.
