Last Friday, July 11, 2013, Cvent announced that Experient (a subsidiary of Maritz Travel) had selected Cvent’s hotel sourcing platform for preferred use with its clients. Through this agreement, Experient is expected to source more than two million hotel room nights annually through the Cvent Supplier Network, the online marketplace that connects meeting and event planners with more than 200,000 hotels and other venues globally.
“Cvent’s platform has proven to be a valuable resource to our planners,” said David Peckinpaugh, CMP, president of Maritz Travel and Experient. “In the two years that Maritz Travel has used Cvent’s platform, this unique solution has been extremely beneficial to our business by enabling our planners to research and source world-class destinations, at premier venues for our clients, and we look forward to providing the same level of service to our association, trade show and government clients under the Experient umbrella.
Through the Cvent Supplier Network, Experient associates will now be able to streamline the site-selection and booking process when sourcing an event venue. Planners can easily and efficiently submit electronic Requests for Proposal (eRFPs) to more than 200,000 hotels and venues in more than 900 major cities in 175 countries around the world and compare side-by-side bids to help them save significantly on event costs.
“Experient is one of the largest full-service, third-party planning organizations and its recent acquisition by Maritz Travel has enabled Cvent to significantly expand its portfolio of meeting planner customers to include new corporations, associations and the government,” said Chuck Ghoorah
, co-founder and executive vice president of sales and marketing at Cvent. “We’re thrilled about establishing this collaborative relationship and the integration of our platform with their systems to create one-of-a-kind events for clients while delivering exceptional results.”
