10 Ways Your Hotel Can Help You Enhance Your Event

It's amazing how the smallest detail can have a huge impact on the overall look of your event. Whether it's social or corporate, these minor enhancements are (in some cases) budget-friendly and simple to add. If you're working with a hotel, ask your Event Manager what their hotel is capable of. This makes your job easier because they can often take care of the legwork for you. Equipment and linen rentals, audio visual and limited decor options can all be taken care of by the venue. There might be a 10% markup for some of these enhancements, but it's well worth the money and your precious time to let them take care of these details. Plus, if you lack a creative gene, you may want to take advantage of your hotel manager's input!

1. Chivari chairs as a substitute for traditional ballroom chairs

2. Pin spot lighting on the center of each table and to highlight areas of traffic in the room (hors d' ouevres displays, bar, cake, or gift table)

3. Non-traditional napkin folds

4. Gobo lighting using a stencil of your company logo

5. Chocolate fountain for the dipping of fruits and sweet pastries

6. Request "white glove service" from the hotel staff

7. Pipe and drape behind the bar

8. Multi-colored uplighting in each corner of the room

9. Soft jazz or dinner music using the hotel's house speakers

10. Hors d' ouevres with a theme (i.e. Maryland Harbor)
