Could 2012 Be Your Year to Meet in Washington, DC?

Washington DC is practically a self-sustaining economy, a world of its own in the hospitality industry. As the political epicenter of the U.S. and home to an abundance of international organizations, governmental institutions and corporate powerhouses, it's a popular and convenient place to meet.
Citywide conventions take over the area when the time comes. These conventions are on a rotational basis, traveling across the country and world to serve participants in different locations for various reasons. Last year (are we saying that already?) in 2011, the city was home to 22 citywide conventions. There are only 13 on the books for 2012. What this means for you is that DC is hungry for your business. The city is going to rely on various other sources of income to make up for the loss. This could mean greater chances for short-term bookings, smaller meetings and the best of all, more availability for your site search!
