How to Customize Your Coffee Breaks

Candy JarsFreshly brewed coffee, assorted teas and sweeteners, shortbread cookies, granola bars, whole fruit and bottled water: all common ingredients for your twice-a-day coffee break pick-me-ups. Today, I dare you to surprise your meeting attendees with a non-traditional coffee break! Here's how:

Candy Store Display: Many hotels will have the means to create this display for you. Using a selection of glass jars and vases, have them fill each one with a different candy. Jelly beans, M&M's, licorice ropes, gummy bears, Swedish Fish, and Hershey's Kisses all are great items to include. Add a couple of extravagant lollipops for decoration, and voila! You have yourself a candy shop.

Create-Your-Own Parfait Bar: This would be a big hit for morning breaks especially. Allow your guests to build their own parfait using an array of common indredients. Be sure to include a few different granola mixes, two yogurt flavors, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, almonds, walnuts, honey and chocolate chips, to name a few.
Frozen Yogurt Machine: Rent a frozen yogurt machine to be used during your afternoon coffee break. Spice things up by offering an assortment of toppings.

Chef-Attended Smoothie Bar: Request a 30-minute smoothie action station where guests can choose ingredients and watch the chef concoct it in front of their very eyes. Consider offering some extra add-ins tailored to your meeting time, for example, an refreshing citrus wake-up blend for morning events or a re-energizing combo for afternoon affairs.
