The Mary M. Gates Learning Center of historic Old Town Alexandria, VA opens its doors as a state-of-the art meeting facility at United Way Worldwide.
They call it "more than just a building," because this learning center enlivens the mission of United Way by mobilizing caring communities to around the world to advance the common good. It is believed that the facility will provide helpful tools for communities to address growing societal challenges.
Its tools are advanced technology and conducive meeting space. With 8,000 square feet of space, configurations include a 150-seat auditorium with video conferencing capabilities, six river-view meeting rooms, or the large atrium and outdoor patio. Of the six meeting rooms, two are computer labs, one is a well-equipped business center, one is a lounge with a "de-stressing area" and one is a broadcast room.
The webinar rooms facilitate real-time learning. High-definition projectors strengthen images. The studio space is ideal for interviews and promotions, and the video conferencing room provides the illusion of a face-to-face meeting.
