2010 is winding down, and with the close of the past year comes many things for planners to look forward to in the new year. The economic meltdown in the financial markets two years ago still lingers in the air, and it is because of this that many hoteliers were forced to re-think their strategies and create value. Hotels will continue this trend through 2011. I presume this re-structuring will affect planners in three major ways: with new menus, updated or new meeting packages, and renovations.
New Menus: it goes without saying that hotel menus are ever-changing as trends in the culinary sector change. But with the dawn of a new year, new menus are especially top-of-mind. Hotels desire to bring something new to the table to entice planners to consider them throughout the entire year.
Updated or New Meeting Packages: based on feedback from prior meetings, it is likely that the new year will bring updated or new meeting packages. Maybe the 2010 package discouraged Meeting Planners because not enough A/V equipment was included, or perhaps the package was in need of an upgrade or two. Keep an eye out for alerts regarding new packages as they might be the perfect solution to your current meeting-search problem.Renovations: now that the fiscal year has concluded for most in the hotel world, budgets are analyzed and being set for 2011. With excess money comes room for improvement! Be on the lookout for renovations that could mean an upgraded meeting facility for your favorite venue!
