Survey Predicts Increase in Business Travel in 2011

Business TravelerThings are looking bright for the hospitality industry in 2011. A recent survey conducted by Deloitte LLP shows that 80 percent of business travelers anticipate more or the same amount of travel for 2011 as 2010. With an increase in business travel comes what we all love most, meetings.

While business travel expenses were closely monitored over the past couple of years, 79 percent of respondents indicate a spending of more or the same for 2011. This is a good start, at least!

The survey also uncovered that two-thirds of respondents find the overall hotel experience to be of importance. 68 percent of them work primarily in their room and expect more than just a clean room and a comfortable bed.

What does this mean to you, Meeting Planners? It means companies are willing to continue their current spending or possibly increase it. Take advantage of this increased spending ability and find your group a venue that can provide them with a total meeting experience they can count on!
