Although not a big hotel chain, Peabody has made a name for itself in the industry. The 1,641-room Peabody Orlando proves that luxury and service can be combined in a convention center hotel.
In addition to being connected to the Orange County Convention Center by a skywalk, the Peabody Orlando also offers planners lots of guest rooms and a ton of meeting space. Last year, the property finished a $450-million expansion that included enhancements to 300,000 square feet of event space and 105 meeting rooms, a 22,000-square-foot spa and even parking for 2,100 cars.
The function space includes a column-less grand ballroom with over 54,000 square feet of space and two other ballrooms, one with more than 34,000 square feet and another with almost 27,000 square feet. All of it offers high-end technology with 100Mb of high-speed Internet and a Fiber/Cat-V meeting room network.
The hotel is a great mix of traditional and contemporary design, with clean lines, marble floors and deep, rich wood. Of course, there are options for dining and relaxing, with several restaurants, a swimming pool and cabana area.
And just like at the original Peabody in Memphis, the Orlando property also has the famous (and cute) ducks and the Peabody Duck March. See those adorable quackers each day at 11 AM and 5 PM.
