Announcements at PCMA's Annual Meeting

The PCMA 2011 Convening Leaders Annual Conference took place in Las Vegas January 9-12, PCMA2011 at the MGM Grand. In addition to exciting keynote speeches and an abundance of education opportunities such as Learning Labs and breakout sessions, the meeting also saw announcements for students, award winners and future business.

The New Orleans Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau (NOMCVB) and New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center sponsored one of the General Sessions and announced an opportunity for meeting professionals in its annual auction, marking the fourth time a convention center has auctioned its meeting space to benefit PCMA.

The Convention Center Auction is designed to raise money to fund high-level meetings industry education. The auction offers meeting professionals savings and features the city and convention center. 

In recognition of extraordinary leadership and overcoming difficult challenges during a time of crisis, PCMA selected Colin Reed, Gaylord Entertainment Chairman and CEO, to receive the 2010 PCMA Chairman's Award, which he accepted in person during the meeting in Vegas.

Several Las Vegas charities will benefit from the hard work, donations and fund raising efforts of PCMA members and sponsors attending the Las Vegas meeting. Charities include Hospitality Helping Hands, The Water Conservation Coalition and St. Jude's Ranch for Children, all of them located in Nevada.
