Montelucia Resort & Spa in Scottsdale has announced that it has been acquired by KSL Capital Partners, a private company specializing in travel and hospitality. Montelucia, which will continue its affiliation with InterContinental Hotels, is a new addition to the Scottsdale resort scene and unique in its Moroccan theme, including a Presidential Suite that mimics an Arabian palace of old.
In 2010, the property was named as the top resort in Arizona by readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine. Plus, Esquire Magazine recognized its restaurant, Prado's, as on of the country's best new restaurants and the Toronto Star called Joya Spa one of the best in North America.
For meeting planners, the Montelucia offers 252 guest rooms, 39 suites and two presidential suites. There are seven outdoor functions spaces from 500 to 23,000 square feet, two ballrooms, 14 breakout rooms and the Joya Spa, with over 31,000 square feet of spa area.
