Part of marketing your event app involves promoting the features and benefits. While some are straightforward, others take a little more explanation. And some, like Click, are relatively new concepts. Click is a scavenger-hunt-like game built into the app. You play by uploading photos to complete challenges and earn points. A scoreboard can even be projected on the wall in order to motivate attendees and increase participation. Sponsors and exhibitors can also get more involved by offering prizes, which is a good way for them to make a lasting impression on attendees.
Click is part of the gamification movement. You may have come across this term in your mobile app research. (Some of us here like to say "gamify" instead.) Gamification is adding game-like concepts to non-game apps. It’s been proven that adding a game to your app drives interaction between people and also prolongs engagement with your event app.
People enjoy social activities. They also enjoy completing challenges. And there’s nothing like instant gratification. Adding an in-app game gives your attendees all three of these things. It also takes the pressure off of networking and makes it easy for exhibitors and sponsors to connect with attendees. Plus, it’s just fun. An event is kind of like throwing a party and waiting for people to mingle. A game is a good excuse to get people talking, form stronger connections, and create lasting memories.
Here's a simple cheat sheet you can use for introducing Click to everyone at your event:
