Cvent’s 2017 List of Top 50 APAC Meeting Hotels has been Released!

It’s that time of year again! Cvent has released its regional list of the top hotels for APAC meeting planners. In 2012, Cvent launched its first ever list of the top 100 meeting hotels in the US. Subsequent lists were released on an annual basis, and in recent years, Cvent started compiling and releasing lists for EMEA and APAC regions as well.

The latest APAC list is the first time Cvent has compiled a list of top MICE hotels from the region. The list was compiled after analysing meeting and event booking activity from January 2016 through December 2016 on the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN) – a free meeting and event site selection tool.

Hotels from Singapore emerged as the clear leaders this year with 15 hotels from the top 50 being from the city-state, of which seven alone snagged a place in the top 10. Australian properties came a close second with 13 hotels, with three appearing in the top 10. Marina Bay Sands Singapore took the top slot on the list, while Grand Hyatt Singapore, Shangri-La Hotel Sydney, Hilton Singapore, and Conrad Centennial Singapore followed respectively. Marina Bay Sands also happens to be the only independent property on the list. Other Singapore properties in the top 10 include Fairmont Singapore (Rank 6), Pan Pacific Singapore (Rank 9) and Intercontinental Singapore (Rank 10). Hotel chains Hilton and Hyatt ruled the list with 15 properties between them, followed by InterContinental Hotels Group, which had six hotels on the list.

The properties were ranked according to various criteria, including total requests for proposals (RfPs), awarded RfPs, total room nights, awarded room nights, market share, conversion rate, and the hotel’s unique profile visits in CSN. These metrics were chosen because they provide the most accurate reflection of the top meeting hotels in the region.

Cvent has released a similar list for the EMEA region, which can be viewed here. You can also check out our blog post on the EMEA list here.
