Every year, Cvent releases the lists of top meeting hotels in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and the U.S. These lists are compiled after carefully evaluating a pool of hotel properties that generate business through Cvent Supplier Network. The hotels are analysed on the basis of total requests for proposals (RFPs), awarded RFPs, market share, total room nights, awarded room nights, conversion rate, and the hotel’s unique profile visits in CSN. The entire process produces curated annual lists of top meeting hotels across various regions.
Let’s take a closer look at the 2018 list of Top Meeting Hotels in the APAC.
The top three positions on the previous year’s list were held by the Sydney hotels. Hyatt Regency Sydney stood at the No. 1 spot in the 2018 list of Top 50 Meeting Hotels in the Asia Pacific. This gigantic 892-room property is a quintessential MICE venue, popular for hosting some of the most prominent business events in Australia. The second spot was taken by Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, a leading five-star hotel in the city. The hotel offers 565 tastefully designed guest rooms and 19 multi-functional meetings rooms spread in about 3,000 square metres.
Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay was ranked third in the 2018 list, followed by Hilton Kuala Lumpur (#4), Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore (#5), Hilton Tokyo (#6), Hilton Singapore (#7), Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok (#8), Pan Pacific Singapore (#9) and Intercontinental Sydney (#10).
Last year, the APAC list was taken over by the hotels from Singapore with 13 properties getting featured in the top 50. Australian properties came a close second with 10 hotels, with four appearing in the top 10.
It would be exciting to see how many of these meeting hotels are able to maintain their positions on the Cvents’ top charts and how many new hotels make their debut this year. We can’t keep calm and wait for the 2019 list of the Asia-Pacific region.
