Last winter, Cvent Blog gave you a sneak preview of Snow Village Canada and Ice Hotel. Featuring a replica of New York City's skyline, it will be re-opening for a second season on January 18, 2013. Pommery Ice Restaurant and the ice bar and that were so popular last year will be back.
Laval, Quebec (Just North of Montreal)
- Amarula Ice Restaurant
On January 3rd, the developers of Snow Village Canada opened Amarula. Constructed like an igloo, it has a capacity of 60. Service includes lunch from Monday - Friday, daily 3 course gourmet dinners and weekend. brunches. If you're heading to Montreal before the snow melts, definitely make time to head to Laval for this seasonal delight.
- Ice Palace
Since the 1930s, this intricate network of caves, caverns and grottos has been hand carved from the glacier at the Jungfraujoch. Local artists create a variety of ice sculptures for the Ice Palace which is accessible all year. Check out Jungfraujoch Incentive Destinations in Switzerland.
- Ice Castle – Mall of America
The developer of last winter's Ice Castle Steamboat Spring has fashioned Ice Castle – Mall of America from fused, organically grown icicles. With 20-foot towers and 12- to 15-foot walls, the elaborate structure encases tunnels, columns, archways, caverns and throne rooms each with an enormous ice chair. The tower in the central courtyard soars to a height of 30 feet. At night, multi-colored LED lighting creates a mesmerizing ambiance.
